She is a senior studying biological sciences with a minor in public policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dureti has a passion for advancing equity, her vision is to unify YO Scholarship with the needs of the African American and Latinx Community. Dureti has done summer research programs at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and Chicago focusing advancing wellness and access for underrepresented communities. Her participation in community centered research allowed her to notice the structural barriers that hinder youth for their greatest potential. Dureti’s objective to strengthen the bonds between YO Scholarship and African American and Latinx communities so that as one we can push to develop brighter futures and minds.
